KELSEYVILLE The Kelseyville Unified School District is inviting Kelseyville community members to attend a public vote for the high school mascot.

The vote will take place between 5 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 2 at the Kelseyville High School Student Center.

Everyone will be required to show proof of residence in the Kelseyville school district in order to vote.

The mascot committee sifted through more than 40 potential mascots and has narrowed the choices to the following in no particular order: Mighty Oaks, Lightning, Comets, Thunder, Jaguars, Dragons, Crushers, Crush, Titans, Pioneers, Knights, Volcanoes, Tigers, Bengals and Cowboys.

All KHS and Mountain Vista Middle School students, as well as community members, will vote on a first and second choice. The mascot committee will tally the votes on May 9 and will decide upon a single nomination for board action.
