CLEARLAKE A request for a 90 day extension for the Final Environmental Impact Report for the Provinsalia project was granted by the Clearlake City Council on Thursday, April 13. The extension will be calculated from March 25.

The item was pulled from the Consent Agenda at the request of Clearlake resident Marie Pritchard.

Lake County Resort Partners LLC proposes to build the Provinsalia Golf Community on 292.2 acres of land in the southeastern corner of Clearlake. It would contain a maximum of 600 single-family residential units, 120 attached residential units and a nine-hole public golf course.

The city declared the developer s application to be complete on March 25, 2005. A draft EIR, prepared by RMM Environmental Planning, was circulated for review in October 2005.

Article 8 of CEQA guidelines permits a 90-day extension of a one-year requirement for certification of the final EIR. A letter dated Thursday, March 9, from Project Manager Dick Price, expressed the applicant s request for a mutual agreement to a 90-day extension.

Interim Senior Planner Angela Basch recommended that the city council accept the request for a 90-day extension as approval of the extension would permit necessary review and allow completion of necessary environmental reviews.
