Eugenia Jean Owens passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, April 10, 2006, at the age of 95.

Upon her arrival in California from Oklahoma, she worked in the Richmond Shipyard No. 3 as a Rosie, building troop and Liberty ships.

She and her husband started fishing in Clear Lake in 1953, bought property and moved as permanent residents in 1968. They traveled in their motorhome across the USA for many years.

Preceded in death by Roy Owens, her husband of 55 years. She is survived by her brother, Mel Dunham, Laytonville; and six of her seven children, Louise Cook of San Pablo, Ella Gralund of Lower Lake, Jo Ann Owens of Rochelle, Ga., Bonnie Verley of Clearlake, Sandy Duncan of Canada and Danny Owens of San Pablo; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at the Clearlake/Callayomi Masonic Lodge No. 183 F.&A.M., 7100 S. Center Drive in Clearlake.
