Eastlake Grange and the Clearlake Oaks/Glenhaven Business Association thanks all who participated in our Candidates Forum on April 5 in Clearlake Oaks. There were many factors in the success of this event. All of the candidates responded enthusiastically to our request for their attendance and rearranged their busy schedules.
Holly Harris and Chuck Lamb did much of the publicity work and also helped with the set-up. The League of Women Voters and Elizabeth Larson of the Record-Bee provided invaluable advice on how to structure such a forum, given the time constraints. Kenny Parlet s work as moderator and Claude Soones quiet, but firm guidance as timer kept the meeting running smoothly.
Most of all, though, we thank the members of the community who filled Grange Hall to overflowing and demonstrated their interest in our county government. We regret that time constraints did not allow us to present all of their questions at the forum, but we are forwarding that information to each of the candidates. Since this forum could only serve as an introduction to our supervisorial candidates, we encourage all to contact the candidates individually to discuss their issues.
