CLEARLAKE OAKS ? A struggle between two men, in which both were stabbed apparently by the other, resulted in the death of one man and the other is still hospitalized.

Early Friday morning, a Clearlake Oaks resident opened his door to find an unknown bleeding man ? so he called 911.

The man, later identified as Charles L. Miller of Clearlake, had trauma to his face and chest area and told the Lake County Sheriff?s deputies who responded that he had been stabbed several times by Ronald T. Brown of Clearlake Oaks.

Miller said that after being stabbed, he took the knife away from Brown then stabbed him (Brown) several times.

Simultaneously, a second 911 call was received from a nearby residence, reporting that Brown had been stabbed inside the residence of 12760 Oak Grove Ave. in Clearlake Oaks.

When LCSO deputies and California Highway Patrol officers responded to the second call, they found Brown with life-threatening trauma and a single 14-inch knife next to him.

Both Miller and Brown were separately transported to Redbud Community Hospital, where Miller was prepared for surgery and Brown died shortly thereafter as a result of his injuries.

On May 1, another knife was located on the property where Miller had shown up bleeding ? the resident reported finding it in the tall grass on his property, which was near the location where Miller had been prior to being transported to Redbud Community Hospital.

Miller is still being treated for his injuries at Redbud, but he is under LCSO guard awaiting his medical release when he will be placed under arrest for homicide.

Then he will be transported to the Lake County Sheriff?s Detention Facility in Lakeport, according to a release from the Lake County Sheriff?s Office.
