LAKEPORT — Kelseyville High School?s Tanner Olsen won the 100 meters, 200 and long jump on Wednesday during the annual Lake County Meet in Lakeport.

Originally scheduled for March 15 in Kelseyville but wiped out by rain, the all-county meet finally took place in summer-like conditions at Clear Lake High School. Clear Lake?s varsity and frosh-soph boys and Kelseyville?s girls won the team titles.

Lower Lake?s Mike Perez, one of the top runners in the state in both the 800 and 1,600, made a cameo appearance on Wednesday, winning the 1,600 in a leisurely pace of 4 minutes, 33.1 seconds, more than 24 seconds slower than his season best. He also ran without wearing the multi-colored shoes that are his trademark.

Kelseyville?s Olsen had the most firsts, posting winning times of 11.67 seconds in the 100, 24.95 in the 200 and clearing 19 feet, 3 inches to take the long jump.

Clear Lake?s Brandon White, Kory Hook and Mark Dantes were double-event winners. White won the 110 high and 300 intermediate hurdles in 12.87 and 46.26, respectively. Hook cleared 5-6 to win the high jump and 39-0 in the triple jump. Dantes? firsts came in the shotput (43-11) and discus (109-3).

Jorel Allegro of Clear Lake was the most unlikely winner on Wednesday. A shotput and discus man, Allegro volunteered to run the 3,200 because none of the other county teams entered a runner. He won in 16:47, possibly the slowest winning time ever recorded at the Lake County Meet in that event.

?He wanted to do it,? Clear Lake coach Dick Bode said. ?And now he?s got a medal to show for it.?

Allegro also finished second in the shotput at 40-2 ?.

Middletown?s Jeremiah Dedmon won the 800 in 2:25.95, Clear Lake?s John Hulsey won the 400 in 57.5 and Clear Lake?s Justin Mills won the pole vault in 10-6.

The host Cardinals also won the 400 and 1,600 relays.

Clear Lake finished with 151 points and Kelseyville was a distant second with 53.

Girls

Malia Shannon and Maille McCallister were double-event winners for the Kelseyville girls, who won all the running events except one ? Middletown?s Julia Malvino captured the 800 in 2:43.9.

Shannon won the 100 (13.02) and 200 (28.71) and McAllister topped the field in the 1,600 (6:35.2) and 3,200 (15:01).

Runner-up Upper Lake received strong showings from Kim Bouillerce, the winner of the high jump (4-8); Raquel Wells, the winner of the long jump (14-8); and Daniella Santana, the winner of the shotput (30-7 ?).

Clear Lake picked up a first in the discus as Molly Ryan had a toss of 79-2.

Kelseyville rolled up 132 points to Upper Lake?s 65 and Clear Lake?s 62.

Frosh-soph

Tyler Glazier led Clear Lake to the frosh-soph title with firsts in the 400, 800 and high jump. Several of his teammates won two events each ? Daniel Gildea (shot, discus), Keith Todd (1,600, 3,200), Armando Martinez (100, 200) and Andy Weiss (triple jump, pole vault).

Clear Lake had 118 points to Upper Lake?s 36.
