Mae Nahmias is hoping for a full house when her original play, “Jesus is Coming,” is performed at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 3 at the Clearlake Oaks United Methodist Church. “The play is about a woman cleaning up, getting ready for Jesus to come, who is constantly interrupted by people knocking at the door,” said Nahmias, describing her original comedy. As each visitor arrives, the woman turns them away with rudeness and sarcasm so that she can continue making preparations. The event is also an occasion to honor the church”s man and woman of the year. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Nahmias said admission includes smoked turkey dinner with homemade cake for dessert and that it will be a lot of fun. Proceeds will benefit the church, which is opening a child care center.
