The Clear Lake Road Riders/GWTA chapter held their annual ride on April 30 to raise money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Foundation (PBTFUS). Each year in April we host a poker run to raise money specifically for PBTFUS.

We”d like to thank the local businesses that donated prizes: Kathy Fowler, Saw Shop Gallery Bistro, Cottage Cafe, Judy”s Junction, Konocti Vista Casino, Robinson Rancheria, Wildhurst Vineyards, Ace Auto Body, Ironhorse Creations, Iron Doctor, Quail Run Fitness Center, Harbin Hot Springs, Driftwood Lounge, Taylor”s Tavern, Blue Lakes Restaurant, Brick Tavern, Campos Casuals, Lori Adams and Jennifer Richardson, massage therapists, Ukiah Harley Davidson, Jim & Jim”s of Santa Rosa, Hillside Honda and Lakeport McDonald”s.

Local ride clubs in attendance: ABATE Local 28, Christian Motorcycle Association, Old Coots on Scoots chapter 16, Clearlake Road Riders and GWTA Chapter L. On a local level we provide community service in a number of ways. We contribute to the senior centers, the Rural Food Drive (located in Middletown, but supporting all of Lake County), Lake County Special Olympics, Every 15 Minutes events, sponsorship of scholarships for kids at Watta Watta summer camp. We also have a section of Highway 29 cleanup as part of Adopt-A-Highway. We organize and work the big Lake County Toy Run for holidays.

The ride was a huge success this year. We had a record number of riders ? 125. We want to thank the riders for supporting our cause and recognize that all our members contributed to this success. Thanks to the “crew” who sacrificed riding to “work” the event! To our members whose efforts were “behind the scenes” thank you for setting up, cleaning up and donating time, prizes and labor.
