The students are what counts. I was impressed by the Kelseyville School board of directors and also the faculty members at the school board meeting, held March 22.
They showed concern for all students ? students from the Kelseyville School district as well as students from other schools involved in their sports competition events.
Kelseyville has a wonderful school board and faculty. They make many difficult decisions for the good of the students they serve. Their decisions are based on the needs and best interest (not on whims) of these students. They are very wise and use good judgment.
I wish that everyone could have been there to witness this board in action. Do not be swayed by a few self-centered, narrow-minded individuals who are trying to have their way by destroying this wonderful school government already in place. It is not a matter of them making harmful, unwise decisions.
Once you lose what you now have, it will be very difficult to get back to what you now have. Don”t do it. Do you want to set the example for your students, that if you do not get your way (having no regard to who may be hurt in the process), you just run a recall campaign to unseat those in office who do not vote to your liking? And then vote in individuals who would do your bidding in fear of suffering the consequences of the previous board? What is this world coming to?
It does not have to happen. The community has power to prevent this from happening. If you have a problem with any decisions made by your school board, consult with them. They will listen to you.
Kelseyville”s community must not make any hasty, unwise decisions. You are the adults; watch out for your children.
Please do not let Kelseyville devolve into this dysfunctional mess that it is headed into. Look into the future. Set good examples for your children.
