Why is this positive?

I have just come from the coffee shop where the new mascot for Kelseyville was the topic. Here is the what an hour of showing the pictures of the two mascots has led me to conclude.

The administration has no idea what they are doing. You have taken a prideful picture of a nonaggressive nature of a true American and replaced it with a picture of an aggressive French Knight who is faceless as any corporation in the world. He is also a slave owner who put people to death by the thousands for not being on the same page he was religiously in the Crusades. He and his kind were among the world”s most brutal and subversive groups to have ever held control over a group of people. The entire world of that kind only has a toehold in America through fantasy role playing in games. Why would anyone see that as a positive for our children?

I hear the school blame the parents and I hear the parents blame the school for the aggressive lack of manners that so many kids show today, and things like this are part of the problem.

I am part Cherokee and what the US government did to that part of my heritage was possibly the worst atrocity ever done to any Americans, but I would much rather have a prideful American man or woman be the mascot for my grandchildren than a faceless, arrogant, forced conformist, slave owner any day.
