LAKEPORT — Winning pitcher Christian Coddington allowed no earned runs, two hits and struck out nine in 4 1/3 innings on Thursday as the McDonald”s Braves avenged their only loss of the season with a 12-1 win over the Southshore Mets at Clear Lake High School in Lakeport.
Coddington also homered and drove in three runs for the Braves, now 10-1 on the season
Losing pitcher Chuy Fonseca shut the Braves down on two hits when the teams met earlier this season but he didn”t fare as well this time around, allowing eight runs in four innings.
Corey Dillon once again sparked the Braves” offense as he went 4-for-4 with a home run his third in two games and three RBIs.
Jimmy DeMartini went 1-for-2 and knocked in the Mets” lone run.
The Braves host the Westshore Cardinals on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
