I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the individuals, agencies and organizations that made the 4th Annual Konocti Kids Day a great success. I would also like to thank all the children and families who participated in this year”s event and braved the outdoors in spite of the gloomy weather. It is the smiles and laughter of the children that make all the hard work for this event so worthwhile.
I would like to say a “big thank you” to our sponsors; First 5 Lake County, Lake County Office of Education (Healthy Start, AmeriCorps, Safe Schools/Healthy Students and School Readiness Program), Redbud Health Care District, Lake County Tribal Health Reach-Out Program and WestAmerica Bank.
I greatly appreciate all the hard work the committee heads performed to ensure the success of the event: Tanya Biasotti, Burns Valley Healthy Start/AmeriCorps (LCOE); Cheryl Blake, Burns Valley Preschool (LCOE); Doreen Gilmore, Pomo Healthy Start (LCOE); Molly Keithly, Easter Seals; Ana Santana, Oak Hill Healthy Start (LCOE); Luz Sonato, Migrant-Ed; Teresa Farrell, Jeff Ott, Cindy Wayshack, AmeriCorps(LCOE); Nancy Williams, Lakeside Health Center/HealthCorps; and Marilyn Woodford, Lake County Tribal Health Reach-Out Program.
I would like to also thank the many organizations and volunteers who without giving their valuable time, this event would not be able to take place: Lake County Office of Education AmeriCorps members; Bill McDougall and his Carle High School students; Middletown High School students; Gail Picchi, Kristina Neuharth and Troy Sherman of Burns Valley Elementary; Della Murphy of Early Reading First (LCOE); Holly Ari, Mari Valdez and Laura Garcia of Healthy Start (LCOE); the very helpful friends of Cindy Wayshack, Cynthia Williams, Robin Helton, Kris King, Ricky Owens, Cindy Burton and Tony Burton; Jamie Fielden and her Girl Scout Troop; members of Lake County 4-H; and Jim Biasotti.
I would like to thank the following individuals who year after year help out in a way no one else can compare: Brianna Cook of the Burns Valley Preschool (LCOE) for her beautiful poster and banner designs, Marvin Duvall of Burns Valley Elementary for his perpetual strength and Shannon Smith and Tammy Alakszay of AmeriCorps (LCOE) for providing the AmeriCorps members, bike helmets and car safety seats.
