Evelyn Gibbs, age 76, passed away on June 4, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nev. after battling lung cancer for three years. Evelyn had been a resident of Lakeport for 25 years prior to her relocating to Las Vegas in March 2006 to spend time with her family.
She is survived by her longtime companion, Ken Ross of Lakeport; her daughter, Debra Burak; five grandchildren and six great- grandchildren, all of Las Vegas, Nev.; step-daughter, Carol Davis and two step-grandchildren, all of San Lorenzo. Evelyn was a 50-year member of the Pocahontas Lodge in Fort Bragg and a long- standing member of the Eastern Star. She was very talented and a shining example of what people should aspire to be. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
