BLUE LAKES The driver of a truck tractor and trailer was killed shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday as he lost control of his rig and drove off Highway 20 down a steep embankment. The name of the truck driver is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
Witnesses to the 10:50 a.m. accident said they saw the tractor trailer, which was heading eastbound, cross the double yellow lines and then turn to the right.
The truck was removed from Blue Lakes with a mobile crane. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
