I wish some “Christians” cared more about 27,000 children dying of starvation daily than they care about gay marriage like Jesus does. I wish the people who complain about illegal immigrants would do their jobs. I wish people who commute solo in empty 6,500 pound trucks would stop whining about expensive gas.
I wish Hillary Clinton, Dianne Feinstein and Joe Lieberman would admit they”re Republicans. I wish American media moguls wouldn”t confuse pandering with journalism. I wish Dick Cheney had a soul. I wish it wasn”t legal to trade votes on county policy for endorsements like Mike Thompson and Gary Lewis did.
I wish the “War on terror” wasn”t mostly an excuse to repeal civil/human rights and shamelessly profiteer. I wish we had a credible opposition party. I wish the people who support the war would pay for it themselves.
I wish Democrats hadn”t wasted our district”s transportation dollars on a railroad that will never turn a profit or have a genuine need, and may never even operate at all. I wish people were as lovable as animals. I wish I”d never hear or see the word “mascot” again. I wish dropout rates meant as much as test scores.
I wish our political system didn”t filter out the good people. I wish we”d spend less on stuff to destroy the world and more on fixing it. I wish our finest minds weren”t used to design weapons. I wish we paid our deputies and teachers more. I wish we honored labor more than greed.
