Mary Malvina Sherman, of Clearlake Oaks, formerly of Garwood N.J, died peacefully on May 24, 2006, with her family and only daughter at her side after a long battle with small-cell lung cancer. She had enjoyed six years with her only grandson, Corey Joseph Parker.
Mary had lived in Lake County for the last 30 years, where she bred cats, dogs and rabbits; crocheted and photographed and Mary won numerous awards for these efforts in the Lake County Fair.
Mary was known for her sense of humor and quick wit. She was a talented photographer, a computer whiz, fun grandma, loving Mom and sister, great neighbor, animal whisperer and always helped those in need. She played a mean card game of Uno.
Mary will be missed by daughter, Marla D. Sherman; son-in-law, Kelly Parker; and grandson, Corey; sisters, Sylvia Eden of Roseville, June Hubit of Sonoma County, Gerie Leigh of Jacksonville, Fla., and Sandi Hidi of Garwood, N.J.; nephews and nieces, neighbor, Bill Bedwell, all of Lake County, and friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Joe Hidi.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. July 26 at United Methodist Community Church, Clearlake Oaks. It will be officiated by pastor Ruth Canady.
