The earth shook beneath Konocti Harbor Resort & Spa Friday night, June 16, with “Seether” and “Crossfade” kicking off Konocti Presents” wild summer line-up of hard rock entertainment. Friday”s concert was just a preview of what to expect as Lake County”s premier entertainment venue heads for a summer filled with hard-hitting, adrenaline-boosting, head-banging music concerts.

Seether, with Crossfade, “Faktion” and “Mercy Fall,” entertained a diverse crowd with hard pounding drums behind shredding guitars and vocals that just screamed “let”s party!” With hair flying to and fro and bodies jumping in unison, Konocti”s outdoor amphitheatre was the scene of a good time.

Mercy Fall followed by Faktion opened the show, pumping the crowd up for evening”s headline acts. Following their performances, members of Mercy Fall and Faktion took to the stands where they signed autographs for fans while Crossfade and Seether carried on the show.

With pools of people already on their feet ready to rock and roll, Crossfade made its way to the stage. The Swedish band belted out favorites from its debut album “White on Blue” along with new chart topping songs such as “Cold,” “So Far Away” and “Colors.” Crossfade, which means transition, held a firm grip on the crowd”s attention ? leaving a buzz of energy, which in turn was further fed by Seether”s performance.

Through a sea of red, hanging hair Seether frontman Shaun Morgan, along with bassist Dale Stewart and drummer Kevin Soffera, kept the energy alive with a powerful set list. The trio from South Africa proved its ability in rocking American audiences, delivering a performance possessed with an inescapable flavor of grit and grundge.

Seether will make another Lake County appearance this year, joining “Staind” in the Konocti Amphitheatre on the eve of BoardStock XI, Wednesday, Aug. 16, kicking off a four-day ride into the insane world of extreme sports and mad crazy music. BoardStock XI is scheduled to host an impressive line-up of extreme rock and roll musicians including “Collective Soul” with special guest “Lifehouse” on Thursday, Aug. 17 and “Kid Rock” will take the stage on Friday, Aug. 18. Just added to the BoardStock XI line-up is grunge-scene icon “Alice in Chains,” which will wrap up the party on Sunday, Aug. 20 in the outdoor amphitheater.
