LAKE COUNTY — Summer officially began with a vengeance this week — and today”s high temperature is once again forecast to top the century mark at 104.
On Friday the county topped out at 104 -? although forecast to only reach 102 — so be prepared for even higher temperatures today and tomorrow.
The National Weather Service wants to remind everyone to drink plenty of water — and to make sure your animals also have plenty to drink and have access to shade. Never leave your pet in a closed vehicle for any length of time.
During heat waves, people are encouraged to seek out air- conditioned locations and plan outdoor activities in the morning and avoid overly exerting yourself during the hottest part of the day.
