KELSEYVILLE — Courtney Cowden singled in the winning run to cap a three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh Tuesday night as Press Democrat outslugged Sawshop/Serenity 16-15 in the first game of a women”s league softball doubleheader at County Park.
Jen Goff and Sheri Angiolini each went 4-for-4 for Press Democrat. Cowden and Jenny Mateer added three hits apiece.
Jill Hoeffer went 3-for-4 for Sawshop/Serenity.
In the second game, Mateer went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run to lead Press Democrat to a 22-5 win. Cowden and Tina Daskam added three hits apiece.
Hoeffer had two hits for Sawshop/Serenity.
Press Democrat is 6-1.
