In reading the Washington Post, I was astounded to discover that the Bush administration is attempting to pass a line-item veto. When this was granted to President Clinton during his administration, the Republicans cried foul and the courts took that line-item veto away from him.
This administration is now using these same tactics to enforce unconstitutional and unnecessary laws such as the Patriot Act and by using the Marriage Act between a man and a woman. This administration is adding more and more laws taking constitutional rights of the citizens of the United States. What will this administration do next? They are now monitoring and collecting personal data, i.e. communications, library records, telephone and bank records. Heaven only knows what is next!
This administration easily forgets the Constitution is for the “People” and not the religious right wing.
