Milton Walker Hearn, age 69, entered into rest on June 25, 2006. He was born in McAllister, Oklahoma on April 16, 1937. He served his country in the Army in Germany for eight years. He and his brothers commercial fished out of Eureka for many years. Milton work as a cabinet maker and set mobile homes, awnings and skirting. Milton worked at the Oaks Chevron in Clearlake Oaks and the old 76 station in Clearlake for nine years where he met and made many friends. After that he worked at Four Corners Building Supply and then construction labor for Don Cowden Construction, finally semi-retiring to do handyman work for several of his close friends.
He was a member of North Shore Grange #822 and Pomona Grange #43. He also was with NCRA for many years and was the “guy at the pit gate” for the last 10 years at the Lakeport Speedway. He enjoyed fishing, auto racing and his family. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Milton is survived by his wife of 16 years, Jinjer, of Clearlake; son, Robert (Leona), Bland, Miss; stepchildren, Cassie (Carl) Whitaker of Central Point, Ore., Maryann (Chris) Rogers of Great Falls, Montana, and Jessie (Heather) Sterrett of Clearlake; grandchildren, Angela (Edward) Cole, Ashley Gavazza, Timothy Sterrett; great-grandchild, Brittany Cole; brothers, Paul (Joyce) of Stockton and Bud of Eureka. He is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews.
Milton was preceded in death by his first wife, Lisa; daughter, Mary, and grandson, Andy. Also preceding him are three sisters and four brothers.
You”ve run your race and made the checkered flag, Milt. Now you can go fishing!!
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 7, at Chapel Of The Lakes, 1625 N. High St., Lakeport.
