KELSEYVILLE — Konocti Harbor Resort and Spa”s Sea Breeze Foundation treated three families to a weekend dream visit which included front row seats to two concerts, a personal meet and greet with singer Hilary Duff, spa services such as manicures, pedicures and massages, and a three hour night-time boat ride.
All three children suffer from Xeroderma Pigmen-tosum (“XP”), a rare degenerative disease that causes severe burns or extreme freckling on the skin from exposure to only a few moments of daylight or any form of ultra-violet light. Even shade or dusk can cause third-degree burns and cancer (for more information on this disease visit www.xpfamilysupport.org).
Michele Milota, Aimee”s mother, said, “It was awesome we already want to come back. Aimee had a great time, she”s still wearing the backstage pass around her neck from Hilary”s concert.”
The whole trip was incredible it was nothing that we could have imagined, we had no idea what to expect and it was simply amazing.”
Before this trip, Aimee had never been on a boat, according to her mother.
“Every time we would drive by the Sacramento river near Discovery Park Aimee would always say how she wanted to go on a boat someday, so this was wonderful,” stated Michele, adding, “Hardly anyone ever gets to go out on a boat at night, so this was really special. I just hope the Seabreeze Foundation can continue to help hundreds of other families like they”ve helped us,” Milota stated.
