When is victory achieved?
So our House of Representatives has said we shouldn”t withdraw American troops from Iraq until victory is achieved. Great soundbite, almost as good as “Mission Accomplished.”
But wait, when you are fighting a war against something as abstract as “terror,” how do you tell when is victory achieved?
Some are content to wait for the “V” signal from our leaders. I”m not so trusting. With the level of government corruption we”ve seen in recent years, you have to wonder if the “victory” they”re talking about has more to do with their campaign coffers than with the triumph of Americans or Iraqis.
