May 16, 1916-July 5, 2006
Peder Andreas Lygren, age 90, passed away in his home while trying to recover from recent health complications. He is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Peder, and his wife, Margo, moved to Clear Lake from Los Angeles in 1956. They bought, built and operated the longest family-owned resort on Clear Lake.
Pete was born in Everett, Wash. He was raised on a farm in Norway and then came back to America in 1942 to enlist in the US Army. He fought as a Technical Sergeant in World War II in New Guinea and received the Purple Heart. Pete managed a wonderful resort for 48 years on Clear Lake. Glenhaven Beach Resort was loved by many locals, patrons and friends. The resort”s success was due to Pete”s integrity and principle of hard work. He would lend a helping hand to all those in need and judged everyone with compassion and fairness.
Private services are being held for the family with a celebration of Pete”s life to be announced at a later date in July. Please sign the guestbook at www.record-bee.com, click on obituaries.
