WILLITS — Pinch-runner Tyler Gamber scored from first base on Mike McManus” clutch double in the bottom of the fifth inning to cap a three-run rally and lift Westshore to a 6-5 win over El Molino of Forestville in Little League 10-11 All-Star action on Tuesday at Willits.
It was an elimination game since both teams entered play with one loss in the double-elimination tournament. Westshore advances to another must-win game today at 5:30 p.m. against Healdsburg. The winner of that game moves on to meet undefeated Windsor in the championship round.
Dustin Thaxton worked three innings in relief of Stone Phillips to pick up the win. Phillips and Kenny Henninger each went 2-for-3 at the plate to pace Westshore hitters.
Oren Ruffcorn takes to the mound today for Westshore against Healdsburg.
