Parking meters in Lakeport?
It”s coming! If the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors have their way, the day is coming. Along with it will be overcrowding of schools, overburdening police, fire and health care, and traffic congestion.
They, the Board of Supervisors, recently “caved in” to the developers overriding the incomplete master plan for the development of Lake County.
Whose best interests are they serving, the citizens of Lake County or the developers?
Don”t be swayed by the “smoke and mirrors” trick where City Hall claims increased development will increase the tax base, thus providing more services. On the contrary, as population increases the tax base does not keep up with government expenditures. As population increases, quality of living decreases.
On July 27 at 9:30 a.m. at a public hearing at the Lake County Courthouse in Lakeport the Planning Department is recommending approval of a 137-unit subdivision to be built on prime agricultural land at Robin Hill. This is just the first phase, with plans in development for an additional 890 units in-the same area by an out-of-state group, calling themselves Robin Hill Partnership, based in Seattle.
Is City Hall selling out to the developers?
