Joseph “Mac” McWilliams, age 89, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2006, in Lakeport. He was born April 8, 1917, in Sanger to Joseph K. and Anna McWilliams.

Mac was a member of Teamsters Local 85 in San Francisco for 32 years until his retirement in 1978. In 1980 he and his wife Janey moved to Lake County where they lived for 26 years. Mac was a member of Grace Methodist Church in San Francisco for many years and for 30 years has been a member of the Native Sons of the Golden West.

He is survived by his daughters, Karen Moreno of Lakeport, Sherry (Joe) McWilliams-Moncada of Lakeport; grandsons, Rick (Cherice) Moreno of Lakeport, Joey Moreno of Medford, OR, Tony Moreno of Lucerne; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Ciera Moreno, both of Lakeport; and adopted daughters, Dawn Riley of Canada and Rosanna Bermudez of Florida. He also is survived by his former son-in-law Rick Moreno of Albuquerque, NM.

In 1999 he was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 50 years, Janey.

Dad was a very loving and devoted father and grandfather. He was a loving role model not only to family members but to countless others in his lifetime. He loved playing a good game of Pedro or Cribbage, loved watching both of his grandsons play baseball and he liked drinking an ice cold beer. We have a thousand loving memories of you, Dad,

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday July 25, at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 High St.
