Wakeboarders, wake surfers, motocross racers, skydivers and musicians alike will once again descend upon Konocti Harbor Resort & Spa for BoardStock XI, a four-day extreme sports lifestyle event scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 17 to Sunday, Aug. 20.
With competitions and exhibitions on the land, on the lake and in the air, world-class athletes in their respective fields can be seen at this multi-sport event, which includes the WWA Wakeboard World Series Championships, the World Wake Surf Championships, freestyle pro motocross, extreme streetbike jumpers and hardcore skydiving.
To view the water-based races and events, attendees can choose to watch the action from viewing bleachers or tie up their boats to the 1,500-foot tie line that will run the length of the course. In addition to the competitions and music, BoardStock will feature a festival row of vendors exhibiting their wares on an imported sandy beach, made up of more than 100 tons of sand. Other BoardStock festivities include the “Last Man Standing” rough water ski competition, a boat-up party barge and more.
Live music will be a key part of BoardStock XI, with bands playing on multiple stages throughout the day, including a floating stage centered in the middle of the competition course. At night, some of the biggest names in music will take the main stage, outdoors, under the stars in the intimate 5,000-seat Konocti Field Amphitheater.
This four-day, insane trip into the world of wakeboard and wakesurf championships kicks off with a BoardStock Eve concert featuring rock group Staind on Wednesday, Aug. 16. On Thursday, Aug. 17, Collective Soul with special guest Lifehouse takes the amphitheater stage.
On Friday, Aug. 18, it”s Kid Rock at BoardStock. On Saturday, Aug. 19, the night-time festivities continue with the “Saturday Night Fever” dance party, featuring the Miss Hawaiian Tropic Model Search Pageant and California”s No. 1 party band, Wonderbread 5. BoardStock XI concludes on Sunday, Aug. 20, with an awards show for the BoardStock athletes and a Grand Finale BoardStock XI concert with Alice in Chains.
BoardStock XI day pass tickets are required for access onto the resort property for main events Friday, Aug. 18 through Sunday, Aug. 20. The cost for a day pass is $17 (plus a $3 service charge) per person per day and includes viewing of all events and music except headliner concerts, which require a separate ticket. No day passes are required for preliminary events on Thursday, Aug. 17.
