Adas “Al” Allen, was born January 26, 1927, in Mahomett, IL to Beatrice and Adas Everett Allen Sr. He passed away peacefully on July 26, 2006, at the age of 79 after a long battle with heart disease.

He is survived by his daughters, Lori (Jay) Beristianos of Upper Lake, Lisa (Mike) Carusillo of New Mexico and Linda Tiernan of Hawaii; son, Phil (Barbara) Allen of Ontario; grandchildren, Janie, Jessica, Joshua, Nathan, Sarah, Geordy, Matt and Ben; as well as many nieces and nephews who loved their “Uncle Al”.

His surviving siblings are his younger sister, Norma, and brother, Larry.

He is preceded in death by his late wives Bobbie and Allie.

Dad was raised on a farm as a young boy. He had many fond memories of early morning feedings of all the animals and pranks he would play on the neighbors. He left for the US Navy at age 19 where he served in World War II on the USS Aucilla. Out of the Navy he became an electrician and plumber in Orange County. He found employment with Shell Oil Co. and US Polymeric.

After many years Dad found himself in Lake County where locals came to know him as Al. When he wasn”t working he loved to garden, fish, play cards and have a beer with salt around the rim. So if you knew “AL” celebrate that he is finally at rest. An old hymn Dad had in his heart was “I”ll Fly Away”, so now he truly has.

To our many friends and family praying for him, we thank you all.

Dad”s final days were spent with his loving friends and staff at Clover Valley Guest Home. They gave him comfort, love and support that he needed.

Donations in his honor can be made to the American Heart Association or Hospice Services of Lake County.

A graveside memorial service with be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, at Upper Lake Cemetery with a reception to follow. Arrangements by Jones Mortuary, Lakeport.
