Betty L. Bentley, age 74, passed away in her home in Lakeport on July 17, 2006 with her son, daughter, and grandson at her side. She was born Oct. 24, 1931 in St. Paul, Minn. and raised in Fargo, N.D. Betty lived in Lakeport for 40 years and was the owner of the Rainbow Restaurant for many years with her loving husband, Bill, who passed away in 1989.

Before her failing health, she was active at the First Baptist Church where she made many beautiful flower arrangements. She enjoyed bowling, crafts, making her “famous grandma Betty Cakes,” and being with her family.

She was a very loving and generous mother, grandmother, and friend and will be deeply missed.

Betty is survived by her son, Steven Duval; daughter, Roxann (Steve) Bussard; two grandsons, Jared (Tiffany) Bussard, Jesse (Kellee) Bussard; two great-grandchildren, Jaden and Hailee; Step-daughter, Sherry (Rex) Gladden; five step-grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday Aug. 14 at the First Baptist Church on 7th and Forbes in Lakeport.
