BoardStock XI is here and ready to get underway at Konocti Harbor Resort & Spa. Four days of extreme sport excitement kicks-off tonight with BoardStock XI Eve headliner Staind taking center stage in the Konocti Field Amphitheater.
BoardStock XI will feature four days of wild wakeboard and wakesurfing competition along with exhibitions in sky diving, free-style motocross, a water slalom challenge and the 2006 Miss Hawaiian Tropic Model Search Pageant, plus much, much more. Evening entertainment will heat up with some of the summer”s hottest bands taking the stage in Konocti”s outdoor amphitheater.
Competition and exhibitions will be held on land, water and in the air as world class athletes participate in this multi-sport event, which includes the WWA Wakeboard World Series Championships, the World Wake Surf Championships, Freestyle Pro Motocross, Extreme Streetbike Jumpers and Hardcore Skydiving. To view the water-based races and events, guests may choose to watch the action from viewing bleachers or tie up their boats to the 1,500-foot tie-line that will run the length of the course.
Along with world class sports competition, Konocti Presents is pleased to include an extreme line-up of musical guests for BoardStock XI. BoardStock XI Eve kicks-off with Staind. On Thursday evening, it”s Lifehouse and Collective Soul. Friday night will be nothing less than wild with bad boy Kid Rock leading the party. On Saturday, the 2006 Hawaiian Tropic Model Search Pageant takes place in the showroom. BoardStock XI closes with master of metal Alice in Chains in the Konocti Field Amphitheater.
Preliminary events get underway on Thursday with BoardStock XI hitting full throttle on Friday and continuing through Sunday. BoardStock XI Day Pass tickets are required for access onto the resort property for the main events, Friday, Aug. 18 through Sunday, Aug. 20. Day pass tickets, priced at $17 (plus a $3 service charge) per person, per day, include viewing of all events and access to festival vendors and music, except headline concerts, which require a separate concert ticket. Day passes are not required for preliminary events on Thursday, Aug. 17.
Local guests are encouraged to carpool and arrive early as parking will be extremely tight. Furthermore, Konocti”s boat launching facility will not be accessible during BoardStock XI and no outside alcohol or food will be permitted on the resort property.
