Comedy on Tilt 3, a comedy variety review show, returns for a third year for four Lake County performances on Fridays and Saturdays, Sept. 8 and 9 and 15 and 16 at the Kelseyville Presbyterian Church”s Fellowship Hall. Friday shows are at 7 p.m. and Saturday matinees are at 3 p.m. Kelseyville Presbyterian Church is located on Church and Third streets in Kelseyville.

This year”s theme is “The Beautiful and the Weird.” Comedy on Tilt 3 features a variety of original skits, poems, songs and monlogues as well as a stand-up routine written and performed by local talent including two poems written by poet laureate finalist Fran Ransley. Troupe member Kathleen Escude” and master of ceremonies Bert Hutt will be performing a number of songs throughout the show. Many of the performers are members of our local Lakeport Community Players and Lake County Repertory Theater.

The troupe is a brainchild of Daniel Holland, comedian, and long-time resident of Lake County. “When you see the world on tilt, rather than straight on, then you see the humor in the situation,” said Holland. “That”s what our new troupe, Comedy on Tilt, is all about, to look at life at a slightly different angle.”

Holland rates the show as a family show but not for young children. “Our comedy comes from a shift in everyday thinking, wordplay, zaniness, and sometimes surprise — but not shock,” emphasized Holland.

Under the cover of humor the troupe explores petty pretentions, relationships, body image and other risky subjects. Comedy on Tilt also enjoys using physical comedy just for the pure fun of it.

Lake County Arts Council sponsors the troupe, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the arts council. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the arts council”s Main Street Gallery and at the door. For more information, call Cindy Car at 540-5554.
