* Clearlake Elks Lodge No. 2299 will hold its monthly youth activity breakfast from 9 a.m. ”til noon on Sunday, Sept. 3. The menu will consist of French toast, eggs any style, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage or bacon, toast, hash browns, juice and coffee for only $5 for adults and $2.50 for 12 and younger. Recipients are limited to one cat voucher per month. Please show proof of low income by bringing an EBT card, Notice of Action, Medicare card, Social Security document, unemployment check stubs, proof of disability or current check stubs and picture identification.

* Lake County Tribal Health”s “Reach Out” program sponsors a series of healthy cooking classes that are taught by gourmet chef Kai Bravo, 6 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Rebekah Lodge in Lower Lake. To register, call Reyna Lopez at 263-8382, ext. 135. To offset program costs, Lake County Tribal Health encourages a $10 donation. Dinner is included. Classes also take place regularly at other Lake County locations.

* The Lake County Rockhounds hold monthly meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month at Redbud Library, 14785 Burns Valley Road in Clearlake. The public is always welcome to attend.

* Vietnam Veterans of America chapter No. 951 meets for a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Saint Mary Immaculate parish hall in Lakeport. General meeting follows at 7 p.m.

Information is shared on activities, such as the club”s participation in fairs, the Avenue of Flags and other veterans” ceremonies. Meetings also include discussion of topics of concern for veterans such as Veterans Administration services and policies. Vietnam era veterans, as well as other veterans and members of the general public are invited.

* The Lake County Public Services Department”s HazMobile will accept household hazardous waste, Friday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Lake County Fire Protection District”s Olympic Drive fire station in Clearlake. Households can bring up to 15 gallons of toxic items free of charge based on the size of the container.
