LAKEPORT — Lake County Fair has announced new hours of operation and special promotions for 2006.
The fair will sell tickets and admit patrons until 9 p.m. daily, Aug. 31 through Sept. 3.
Gates open at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 31; at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1; and at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 2 and 3.
Once admitted to the grounds, patrons will find exhibit buildings open from the gate opening time until 10 p.m. each day. All other areas of the fair are open from the gate opening time until 11 p.m., including the carnival.
Admission prices for the 2006 Lake County Fair are $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 through 11. Children under 6 years old are admitted free every day, and seniors enjoy a $4 admission on Friday, Sept. 1. Children through age 11 receive free admission today only for “Kid”s Day.”
Butler Amusements Co., which has provided the carnival at the Lake County Fair for more than 25 years, returns in 2006 with all-day ride wristbands on each day of the fair.
All-day wristbands can only be purchased at the carnival ticket booths, and sell for $18 on Thursday and Friday, and for $25 on Saturday and Sunday.
The Fair theme for 2006 is “Where Fun Grows!”
