COUNTY PARK — Superior Seamless beat Press Democrat 14-13 and 10-3 to sweep the best-of-three B-2 men”s softball championship series held earlier this month at County Park in Kelseyville
Press Democrat nearly rallied from a 12-3 deficit in the first game. Phil Psalmonds, Brian Martin and Cory Schaefers all had three hits for Press Democrat and Scott DeLeon and Tim Doukas had three hits apiece for Superior Propane. Mike Hansen was the winning pitcher and Joe Lippert also homered for Superior.
In game two, winning pitcher Paul McGuire had a no-hitter working through five innings. Press Democrat”s Mark Homer broke up the no-hitter in the sixth.
DeLeon”s four hits powered Superior and Gary Cambra had three hits. Rob Howe had two hits for Press Democrat.
