* Lake County Tribal Health”s “Reach Out” program sponsors a series of healthy cooking classes that are taught by gourmet chef Kai Bravo, 6 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Rebekah Lodge in Lower Lake. * The Redbud Hospital Auxiliary will hold its big annual rummage sale, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Lower Lake Methodist Church, 16255 Second Street in Lower Lake. All proceeds go for hospital equipment.
* The Area One Developmental Disabilities Board will hold its third meeting of the year at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Mendocino Coast District Hospital, 700 River Drive in Fort Bragg. The Area One Developmental Disabilities Board advocates for the legal, civil and service rights of Californians with developmental disabilities in Lake, Mendocino, Humboldt and Del Norte counties.
Sunday, Sept. 10
* An “End of Summer Ice Cream Social” will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10 at the East Lake Grange, Highway 20 at High Valley Road in Clearlake Oaks. A local girl won a ice cream contest and has requested that the community join her in eating her treats. The first 100 people will be welcomed for free to enjoy the 12 buckets of delicious ice cream.

* Vietnam Veterans of America chapter No. 951 meets for a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Saint Mary Immaculate parish hall in Lakeport. General meeting follows at 7 p.m.
Information is shared on activities, such as the club”s participation in fairs, the Avenue of Flags and other veterans” ceremonies. Meetings also include discussion of topics of concern for veterans such as Veterans Administration services and policies. Vietnam era veterans, as well as other veterans and members of the general public are invited.
