Nola Nelson was born Sept. 6, 1928 in Melrose, Kan., and died Sept. 3, 2006, at the age of 78, in her home in Upper Lake.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Kathy) Allred of Arkansas, Dixie (Ed) Kennedy of Texas, Dusty (Dennis) Coats of Oregon, Ozzie (Lisa) Davis of Oregon, Denise (Jay) Burson of Sacramento, Melanie Combs of Upper Lake, Lyman (Gloria) Nelson of Nice and Gordon Nelson of Lucerne;18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Bob Weir of Vallejo and Bill Weir of Alameda.

Nola lived in Lake County for the past 25 years.

She enjoyed cooking extra at mealtimes and sharing the extra with her elderly neighbors.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be truly missed by us all.

At her request no services will be held.

Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of Lake County.
