GEYSERVILLE — Trailing two games to none in their best-of-five non-league varsity volleyball match against Geyserville on Tuesday afternoon, the Clear Lake Cardinals rallied with star Savannah Harrison in their lineup and beat the Bronchos 18-25, 19-25, 25-19, 25-12, 15-13 at Geyserville.

Harrison, a returning All-Leaguer for the defending North Central League I South co-champs, sustained a knee injury in the Cardinals” loss to Healdsburg on Saturday at the Healdsburg Tournament and was unavailable for the Geyserville match.

Middle blocker Shana Hiatt helped turn the momentum in Clear Lake”s favor as she rolled up 22 kills and five blocks in the marathon match.

Setter Priscilla Boyd kept feeding Hiatt and even though the Bronchos knew was coming, they were unable to stop the senior, according to Clear Lake coach David Laven.

“Once Shana got hot, that”s where she (Boyd) went the ball every time,” Laven said.

Kirsten Wascom added six kills, Boyd had five and Claire Mansell four.

“I”m really pleased with the way the girls pulled it together,” Laven said. “They didn”t give up.”
