I have been reading the newspaper coverage of the alleged animal abuse case in Middletown, and I have to speak out.
I have been several times to Teresa Sanders” ranch and have not seen any abused animals there. I have seen her horses; yes, she had a lot, too many to be sure, but they were not abused. Teresa worked very hard to take care of them and gave them food and attention.
Some of her horses ran loose on her property, almost like “wild” horses on the prairie. It was a beautiful sight to see, 20 horses, a mixture of mares and foals and yearlings, running freely about the property.
Teresa does not deserve all the negative attention she is getting, and I don”t think it was right for the county to take away all her horses.
Perhaps some of them could have been given to deserving homes to lighten the load, but she is not an abuser of animals.
