Time is running out to purchase pre-sale tickets to Lake County”s first premier old time Bluegrass Festival, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23 at Anderson Marsh State Historic Park near Clearlake from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This event is bringing popular old time bluegrass musicians from Sonoma County and the Bay Area, and features popular local artists as well. Among the headliners for the day are the Stairwell Sisters from the San Francisco bay Area and the Roadoilers, veterans of the old time bluegrass scene.

Along with music, the event features craft booths with “hand-crafted by the seller,” items, a variety of food venues, and a beer and wine booth staffed by the Kiwanis Club of Clearlake.

The event is sponsored by a variety of local clubs, organizations, individuals and businesses and is co-produced by the Anderson Marsh Interpretive Association, the supporting association for the State Park, and the Clearlake Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds will be used to develop a living history program and curriculum at the park to benefit local students.

The day”s events will also include the Konocti Cloggers dance group, a Contra dance, performances by the Elem Indian Colony dance group, and jam sessions. Food will be available from the culinary program from Yuba College, Clear Lake Campus; the Carl? High School culinary program as well as other food vendors.

Local musicians include Pat Ickes, Andi Skelton and the Konocti Fiddlers, Don Coffin and Gus Garelick, and Jim Williams. Other musicians include Laura Lind and the Bluegrass Contraption with Kenny Blacklock and Katie Bridges.

Tickets are available online at andersonmarsh.org or through the mail at PO Box 672, Lower Lake, CA 95457. There is a $3 processing fee per order for mail or Internet tickets. Pre-sale tickets are $15 adults, $7.50 youth; tickets at the door are $20 adults, $10 youth with children younger than 6 admitted for free.
