Anthony “Tony” William Sampson passed away peacefully at St. Helena Hospital on Sept. 19, 2006. Tony was born November 19, 1948, in San Francisco to May and Ashford Sampson. Tony was raised in Oakland where he attended Oakland Tech High School. Tony then spent his adult life in the Central Valley and Sierra Foothills area.
He spent the last two years in Clearlake helping to care for his mother-in-law Evelyn, who will miss him greatly.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents and son, Sergeant Robert Sampson of the US Army.
He had a wonderful sense of humor and among his loves were plants, gardening and country music.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Maggie; sons, David and Leland; daughter-in-law, Melissa; grandchildren, Stephanie, Michael, Max, Anthony, Marissa and Christopher; along with countless in-laws.
In honor of Tony”s wishes no services will be held. He was loved dearly and a family remembrance will be held at a future date.
