As long as we are spending our time handing out the blame for why there are felons in the world, let”s not forget television, computer games, the Internet, pesticides, lead exposure, poor diet, lack of prenatal care, poverty, low self-esteem … the list goes on and on.
Human beings are complicated and to pigeon hole a class of individuals as “Wells kids” (“They”re not born felons,” Darrell Watkins, Your Opinion, Sept. 22) and to blame their problems on woodsheds, incorrect child rearing and hippies is simple-minded, to say the least.
