Bob Carter passed away Sept. 21, 2006. He was born Nov. 19, 1920, in Clinton, Okla. Beloved husband to Barbara Oakes Carter for 62 years. They lived in Delano where he owned and operated Carter”s Welding and Manufacturing. He retired to Lakeport in 1975 where he and his wife established Golden Acorn Gifts.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; loving father of four.
He is preceded in death by sons, Bob Carter Jr. and John W. Carter.
He is survived by son, Thomas F. Carter II; daughter, Cathleen (Andy J.) Lefevre, all of Lakeport; grandchildren, Cara Eileen (Slavek) Jurkowski of Coppell, TX, Thomas F. Carter III of Paradise and Marla Patrice Lefevre of Ridgecrest; brother, Jack J. (Dorothy) Carter and niece, Jackie L. Carter of Lakeport.
Bob was a member of Clear Lake Baptist Church, Lakeport where he served as Trustee and Deacon.
Memorial services will be held at Clear Lake Baptist Church, 555 N. Forbes St., Lakeport at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006.
