* The Lake County Public Services Department”s HazMobile will accept household hazardous waste, Friday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Lake County Fire Protection District”s Olympic Drive fire station in Clearlake. Households can bring up to 15 gallons of toxic items free of charge based on the size of the container.

Saturday, Sept. 30

* Shriners Hospital Screening Clinic for children from birth to 18 years with orthopedic/bone problems or burn injuries who may qualify for excellent no-cost medical care will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m Saturday, Sept. 30, at Redbud Community Hospital, 15630 18th Avenue in Clearlake at the far end of the main parking area. Look for the two motorhomes set up for the examinations by the doctors. There will be clowns, balloons and refreshments.
