High winds caused downed power lines at two south county locations, with almost 400 customers without power on Friday, Sept. 22.
“We”ve had high winds throughout our system, especially the northern interior,” said David Eisenhauer, a PG&E media spokesperson. “We”ve had trees blowing into power lines throughout our system.” Eisenhauer added that Lake County had been hit relatively easy compared with the Sacramento Valley.
The National Weather Service declared a wind advisory in effect through 4 p.m. on Friday. North winds were predicted at 15 to 30 mph with local gusts to 50 mph.
A downed wire off State Route 29 near B Street outside Lower Lake caused an outage for 200 customers. Eisenhauer said crews hoped to restore power by 4 p.m. on Friday.
A tree fell across power lines and cut wires in half on Blue Heron Court near Shoreview in Clearlake Oaks. Eisenhauer said power would hopefully be restored by 2 p.m. to 180 affected customers.
