What”s the point in voting?
I know shortly elections will be coming up and people will be going to the polls and wondering which candidate to vote for. Why do people even bother though? I don”t see how the political process is fair anyways and it”s not even about whom people think would do the best leading this country. All it”s about anymore is people voting for a candidate not because they think he”s the best choice, but because the other guy is so bad. Even after serving in the military for 10 years I”ve never even registered to vote. And I”m certainly not going to do it now that I”m out and choose a Commander in Chief that I don”t have to listen to anymore. What”s the whole point of it if nobody votes for who they believe in anymore?
Also, if this is supposed to be a country of, for, and by the people, why don”t they just add the whole country”s votes together to determine the winner? Wouldn”t that really make more sense to do rather than granting points based on who won which state? I mean really, is there someone out there who could explain to me what the purpose of voting is anymore these days? And why take part in trying to have your voice heard when there is no one left listening or a deaf ear has been turned?
