Richard “Rick” William Ballew, age 34, passed away in Clearlake on Sept. 25, 2006. Rick was born in Deer Park, and was a resident of Lake County his whole life. Rick was very active and energetic in various media productions for his church as well as utilizing his computer skills for the enhancement and enjoyment of his peers. Throughout his involvement with the church he spent countless hours counseling and supporting others in the church. Rick will be truly missed by all whose lives he touched.

“Rick” is survived by parents; Michele Ballew and Lester Ballew; sister: Jennifer (Tony) Longoria, special sister: Wendie (Seth) Richards, grandparents: Lester (Evelyn) Ballew, Sr., aunts: Mary Alphin, Carol “Auntie” (Rick) Magill, Deborah (Gary) Calcote, uncle: Willie (Rachelle) Sapeta, niece: Grace Longoria, cousins: Frank (Kellie) Alphin, Leslie Jones, Tracy (Rich) McElman, Tony Curran, Brennon Magill, Mike Blohm, Shelby Sapeta, Cody Sapeta, second cousins: Siddalee Alphin, Alison McElman, Brittney McElman, Amanda McElman and Maritta Jones.

Rick was preceded in death by grandparents: William (Dolores “Sandy”) Sapeta.

A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29 at Jones & Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel at 16140 Main St., Lower Lake.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 30, at Our Lady of the Pines Church at Forest Lake Drive and Hwy 175, in Cobb with burial to follow at Glenbrook Cemetery on Bottle Rock Road between Sulphur Creek Road and Kahms Lane. Immediately following the burial a reception will be held at the Little Red Schoolhouse on Bottle Rock Road, approximately ? mile from Hwy. 175 & Bottle Rock Road intersection.
