Mildred Maxine Dotson passed away in her sleep Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006. She was born Nov. 16, 1909. In Des Moines, Iowa.

Maxine was the widow of Earl Dotson, founder of the Buckingham Golf and Country Club. Her husband died in 1981. She also is preceded in death by her son, John. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Nadine and Butch Van Atta; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She also is survived by long-time care giver, Beverly Bates.

Maxine was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Lakeport, and a member of Kelseyville Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She also was active in Clear Lake Performing Arts, the Republican Women”s Club and the Konocti Study Group. The Dotsons moved to Lake County in 1955, after living many years in the Los Angeles area. Maxine was first and foremost a homemaker. She loved to cook, sew, do handwork and paint. She also enjoyed gardening and traveling.

Interment will be at Inglewood Park Cemetery.

A celebration of life memorial is tentatively planned for Nov. 4, 2006, at the Kelseyville Presbyterian Church.
