Rehearsals are well underway for Lake County Repertory Theater”s production of “Legerdemain” by Michael Wolfson. When the cast takes the stage on opening night, its members will have a rare distinction, acting in the world premier of a prize-winning play.

Wolfson”s play emerged out of 105 entries to win LCRT”s national play writing contest this summer. In honor of this achievement, the company plans a gala opening on Friday, Oct. 13, with a reception for the playwright following the performance.

“Legerdemain” will run for six performances in Weaver Auditorium at the Lower Lake Schoolhouse Museum. Night performances begin at 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 13 to 14 and 20 to 21. Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m. Oct. 15 and 22. Tickets are $12 general admission, $10 for students, seniors and LCRT members. Tickets are available at the usual outlets or at the door.
