LAKEPORT — Katie King”s jump serve — 10 aces in 17 serves — propelled the undefeated Kelseyville Knights to a 25-14, 25-16, 25-15 win over the Clear Lake Cardinals in North Central League I interlock varsity volleyball action on Thursday night in Lakeport.

“We didn”t play real well tonight,” Kelseyville coach Larry Bresso said, “but we did serve the ball well and we needed it. And Katie killed them.”

King also had a team-best 11 kills and 2 ? blocks as the Knights improved to 16-0.

“We stayed with them for about the first 16 or 17 points in each game, but they just kind of wore us down,” Clear Lake coach David Laven said. “They”re too consistent for us.”

Shana Hiatt had five kills to lead the Cardinals and Savannah Harrison had four.

“Our front row played OK, but our back row play stunk up the joint tonight,” Laven said.

Lauren Nixon had six kills and 2 ? blocks for Kelseyville, Jill Bailey and Jamie Stockman added four aces apiece and Casey Bowlin had three. Bailey also had a team-best nine digs.
